Sustainable investing

Long-term returns on investments are built on stable and sustainable businesses. Accordingly, integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria throughout the investment process offers opportunities for long-term investors to achieve higher risk-adjusted returns on their portfolio. For this reason, sustainable investing is a key component of the asset allocation strategy of the Pension Fund Swiss Re. The Pension Fund's ESG strategy has numerous parallels to Swiss Re's Group Sustainability Strategy, but also given its independence takes into account the laws and ASIP's recommendations. For this reason, the ESG strategy of the pension fund may differ in individual points from that of Swiss Re. It consists of four elements – integration, impact, exclusions and memberships – and an overarching climate strategy.
