Pension registration

Anyone wishing to draw an old-age or survivor's pension must register their claim. As a rule, the application must be submitted to the compensation office where contributions were last paid.

Without written registration, the compensation funds cannot calculate and pay out benefits,

  • because they do not know the addresses of their insured persons;
  • because marital status affects pensions and this can change;
  • because insured persons must inform the compensation offices whether they wish to draw their pension early or defer it;
  • because insured persons must provide the payment address.

The registration forms are available online and at each compensation office.

The registration forms are available under following link: Old-age pension application form (admin.ch) - language can be chosen. The forms must then be submitted to the compensation office where contributions were last paid in. For Swiss Re employees, this is the compensation office 81 Insurance, see https://www.ak81.ch/formulare

Application for projection of your AHV retirement pension

For a statement detailing their AHV contributions, insureds can apply with AHV compensation office no. 81 for the insurance industry.

Find out more at: AHV compensation office for the insurance industry (ak81.ch) (available in German, French and Italian only).

Please note: if you take early retirement before the age of 65 (which is called the AHV reference age, previously 'normal retirement age'), you may still be required to pay AHV contributions as a non-employed person (Nichterwerbsbeiträge). Any years in which you fail to pay AHV contributions before the age of 65 are counted as missing contribution years and will result in a pension reduction. It is your responsibility to inform yourself about your liability for AHV contributions. Please contact the AHV compensation office directly for detailed information.
