Occupational benefits expert

AON Hewitt, Zurich. The expert:

  • Periodically reviews whether the Pension Fund Swiss Re provides the financial security required to meet its obligations at all times
  • Periodically reviews whether the statutory actuarial provisions on benefits and financing comply with the law
  • Prepares an annual actuarial report

The occupational benefits expert is appointed by the Pension Fund Board and reports its review findings to the Board in writing.


Auditors

Ernst & Young AG, Zurich, audits the accounts of the Pension Fund Swiss Re on an annual basis, specifically examining

  • The annual financial statements and the retirement accounts
  • The management systems, the levying of contributions and payment of benefits
  • Investments
The auditors are appointed by the Pension Fund Board and report their audit findings to the Board in writing.

 

Investment controller

PPCmetrics AG, Zurich, verifies that the investments of the Pension Fund comply with the law and the Pension Fund Regulations.

The investment controller is appointed by the Pension Fund Board and reports its findings to the Board in writing.

 

Supervisory authority

The Canton of Zurich supervisory authority for BVG and occupational pension plans (BVG- und Stiftungsaufsicht, BVS, des Kantons Zürich) is responsible for the approval of mergers, partial liquidations and amendments to the Pension Fund Regulations.
